The Madill boys soccer team scored goals from the opening possession to the match’s final horn in a 7-1 victory against Ada on the road Tuesday. It was the largest margin of victory over Ada in Madill soccer program history.
However, the girls fell 3-1 in penalty kicks after having been tied 1-all after two overtime sessions.Samara Sanchez got Madill on the board with 11 minutes left in the first half.. Ada tied it with a second-half goal. No team scored for the balance of regulation and through two 10-minute overtime sessions. Cielo Gomez made a penalty kick. But, Ada made three to get the victory.
In the boys contest, Rey Gomez netted a kick with 39:40 to go in the first half. Fransisco Perez pushed the ball by the Cougars goalie at the 34:50 mark. Ada scored with 28:38 left to make it 2-1 but that would be all for the Cougs this night. Yovanny Robles booted a goal with 18:16 left before half for 3-1 ‘Cats advantage.
With 31:16 left in the match, Zeke Fuentes’ goal stretched the lead to 4-1. Diego Ibarra kicked a goal with 27:45 left in the contest for a 5-1 lead for the Wildcats. Ibarra had a second goal with 22:45 remaining. Dylon Ortiz hit the top right corner of the net for the goal at the 1:36 mark of the second half.
