FemSTEM Invites Middle School Girls to Explore Science Fields
An interactive science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workshop will give girls currently in middle school a look into exciting careers in STEM fields. The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the STEM Academy in Ada.
The academy hosts a day of workshops fashioned to engage middle school girls in science fields. Students will get first hand experience with activities provided by STEM professionals. Participants will also build and play with FIRST LEGO League Sumobots.
Lunch will be provided. Preference will be given to Chickasaw students.
Students must RSVP.

Fall Festival at Chickasaw Cultural Center
Celebrate the changing of the seasons at the Chickasaw Cultural Center’s Fall Festival, Saturday, October 20th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Enjoy a day of family-friendly activities including a pumpkin patch, cultural demonstrations, make-and-takes, traditional games, garden activities and more.

Financial Aid Workshop
Chickasaw high school students and parents are invited to financial aid workshops Monday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the youth services teleconference center at 231 Seabrook Road, Ada.
Receive information about higher education funding, including Oklahoma’s Promise (OHLAP) and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) processes and learn how to apply for financial aid.
There is no cost for this event.

Chickasaw Language Club Meeting
Chipota Chikashshanompoli Youth Speaking Chickasaw Language Club will meet Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at 1020 N. Mississippi in Ada, Oklahoma.
Members will learn the Chickasaw language through songs and activities. Attendees will need to enter at the back of the building.
Meals will be provided at each meeting.

Halloween Canvas Paint
The Chickasaw Nation Arts & Humanities Division will host a Halloween Canvas Paint, Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and from 1:30-3:30 p.m., at the arts and humanities building in Ada and the ARTesian Gallery & Studios in Sulphur.
Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. A $10 fee will be applied for materials. Material fee will be waived for Chickasaw citizens.
This event is open to the public. Space is limited.

Butterfly Art Contest
The Chickasaw Nation Arts & Humanities Division announces the 2019 Butterfly Art Contest.
The winning butterfly will be featured artwork on promotional materials for the 2019 Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference.
A butterfly is symbolic of the beauty, inspiration and determination of Chickasaw women throughout history.
One piece of artwork, between five and 20 inches in size, may be submitted on art paper.
Artists must be female Chickasaw citizens, ages 14-18. Completed entry forms must be submitted Oct. 29-Nov. 9, 2018.
The 2019 winning artist will receive a $500 cash award. Entry forms can be found at Chickasaw.net/
