Madill kicked off a new era in Wildcat football Friday night. However, the ‘Cats lost 49-7 to Sulphur in the opener at Blake Smiley Stadium.
Trey Kiser was the main feature for Sulphur as the running back scored three times in the first half. The Bulldogs built a 42-0 advantage by halftime.
The bright spot for the ‘Cats came on a 30-yard touchdown by Mateo Fajardo at the 9:38 mark of the third period.
The ‘Dogs added a TD run by McDonald with 8:28 left in the third frame.
Madill travels to Lone Grove Sept. 7.
